On Going Green: One Guru’s Perspective

by admin on August 11, 2009

Going green is a dramatic game changer in the evolution of the exhibition, which until the advent of electricity and modern communications has remained quite uneventful.

My first CEIR Guru report in the series A Greener Place for Face to Face was released in January. Since then, there has been a considerable interest and action by the exhibition industry to put forward and implement solutions to lessen the huge amount of waste exhibitions contribute to global landfill.

These reports focus on the events industry’s chain of participants, exhibitors, organizers, venues & suppliers and attendees. The second report in the series is centered on exhibition organizers; a high profile group of industry professionals that interact with every aspect of the show. Organizers have the greatest involvement and, with that, the greatest influence. This report is available and includes valuable information that you can use immediately.

Knowledge and education are leading the way to a greener exhibition industry; “walking the talk” and “demonstrating by example” is how we will attain our goal – keeping our planet safe for future generations.

What are your green strategies?  Have you already put in place some of the suggestions in Jai’s report?  Let us know here…
