More New Research from CEIR!

by Genny on September 30, 2009

Yesterday, the findings from CEIR’s seventh major new research project of 2009 were debuted through a webinar sponsored by The Center.  During this webcast, Nancy Drapeau of Drapeau Research Services presented her research findings for the recent CEIR study entitled The Spend Decision: Analyzing How Exhibits Fit into the Overall Marketing Budget.

The results of this study are available in a statistics-packed report that details the allocation of exhibitor expenditures, expected changes in spending for exhibiting in 2009, and trends in participation levels from 2007 to 2009 with projections for 2010.

Some nuggets from the report include:

  • An average of 35.8% of companies’ 2008 marketing budget was allocated to exhibitions.  In 2009, that changed only slightly to 33.9%.
  • When it comes to evaluating whether participating in an event was successful, sales metrics rule with nearly eight out of 10 executives indicating a sales metrics is the only or more important metrics used.
  • The majority of respondents report their company’s 2009 average booth sizes are consistent with 2008′s.
