Exhibit Recall – New Research

by Joyce on November 24, 2010

A new CEIR report has been released titled: An Analysis of Changes in the Key Factors Affecting Exhibit Recall in the Last Decade.

CEIR commissioned Exhibit Surveys to update an earlier report published in August 2000.  The following is from the Introduction of the report:

The decade 2000-2009 produced several new dynamics relating to exhibit recall when compared to the prior decade of the 1990s. Most notably, data gathered during the past 10 years shows a movement toward smaller exhibits for those most-remembered, coupled with an upsurge in the importance of exhibit personnel staffing, as well as the increased effects of memorable product demonstrations which confirms in-booth dynamics are gaining impact in terms of recall. Nonetheless, Product Interest, a predetermined factor in recall, remains the best predictor of an exhibitor’s overall success.

The eight page report is full of statistics and commentary on how to interpret them.  One predominate theme in “memorability” is booth size.  However, the report make a point by stating: “While physical booth characteristics remain highly influential, they obviously must be integrated with other factors that also lend themselves to memorability. In short, it might be said that booth recall might, in the future, be stated more accurately in terms of experience recall.”

One graph show the variances between the decades.
