by Joyce on June 4, 2009

The first quarter results are in and Doug Ducate discusses the comparison of the CEIR Index with the statistics from newspaper ads and business publications advertising.  The trade show world is performing better in this down economy than some of its counterparts.  The CEIR Index shows an 11% decline in the first quarter.

Newspaper print advertising revenue totaled $5.9 billion in the first quarter, down 29.70% from the year-earlier period, according to the Newspaper Association of America.

The pace of b-to-b print advertising pages’ decline is accelerating, according to the latest Business Information Network figures released by American Business Media.

Ad pages declined 33.06% in March compared with March 2008, according to BIN. In February pages fell 31.54% after dropping 26.95% in January. For the first quarter, pages plunged 29.70%.  Source: BtoB Magazine
